Thanks for the plastic model

About 20 years ago, I was in Osaka. I had a boring day of going back and forth between work and home, and the stress of unfamiliar lands. I knew a small hobby shop on my way home from work. I was curious about the store, but I didn’t go into it because of my busy schedule.

That day, I was rushing home by bicycle as usual. When I saw the sign of the small store, I couldn’t help but enter the store, even though I was in a hurry.

Inside the store, I was greeted by a pile of plastic models lined up, and behind that was the owner with a Japanese look. When I chose one plastic model, he told me: The plastic model is good. Better to paint. He chose an affordable paint.

It was my first experience painting a plastic model. I was excited. The scent of the paint, the color, and the expression of the plastic model will change. Since then, I have been to the store many times.

When I left Osaka, I also quit the plastic model at the same time.

Ten years later, I was ill and was being treated at home. I had enough time to restart the plastic model. The plastic model gave me courage when I was sick and depressed. Thanks to that courage, I returned to society, got married, and now have three children.

It is thanks to the plastic model that I have come this far. I am grateful to the plastic model. And from now on, plastic models will continue to pave the way for me.
